Job Description

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for conducting financial, operational, and technical audits to ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The role demands an individual with a strong understanding of accounting/audit standards and practical experience in field operations, especially within the telecom infrastructure or tower industry.

Key Responsibilities
1. Financial & Compliance Audits

• Perform audits of financial transactions, records, and processes to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Evaluate internal control systems, identify risks, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Ghanaian laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports with findings, implications, and corrective action plans.

2. Operational & Technical Field Audits

• Conduct field audits on tower sites to assess asset integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with technical standards.
• Verify fuel usage, generator performance, power backups, maintenance logs, and tower uptime.
• Evaluate contractor performance and adherence to SLAs.
• Investigate anomalies such as fuel theft, downtime discrepancies, or unauthorized site access.

3. Risk Assessment & Internal Control

• Identify and assess areas of significant risk across financial and operational areas.
• Design and implement internal control frameworks to mitigate identified risks.
• Conduct follow-up audits to ensure previous audit recommendations have been implemented.

4. Reporting & Recommendations

• Develop and present audit findings to management and relevant stakeholders.
• Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
• Support management in developing and monitoring corrective action plans.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (ICAG/ACCA/CPA), or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in internal auditing, preferably in the telecom, power, or technical services industry.
• At least 2 years' experience in field/technical/operations auditing is a must.
• Strong understanding of telecom tower operations, energy systems, and site infrastructure preferred.
