Job Summary
The Head of Accounts will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, managing budgeting and forecasting, and leading the finance team. This role is strategic, playing a key part in financial planning and decision-making that drives the long-term growth and sustainability of the ISP.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Accounting Department, overseeing day-to-day operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to management and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing, revenue recognition, and cash flow management tailored to the ISP industry’s billing cycles and customer types (retail, enterprise, wholesale).
- Establish and enforce internal financial controls, policies, and procedures in line with industry best practices.
- Coordinate audits (internal and external), liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Lead cost control initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Operations, Sales, and Customer Support to ensure financial alignment across the business.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, statutory requirements, and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).

Required Skills or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- Professional certification (e.g., ICA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA)
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Previous experience in the IT or ISP sector is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, ERP platforms, and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, Sage, or SAP).
