Job Description

Responsible For: Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Activities

Purpose Of The Job

  • To ensure Integrated Management System, Social, Security, Cultural, and Risk Management systems are well defined, implemented, maintained and adhered to according to best practice standards at all levels of the organization within the country.
  • To direct the execution & performance of the company's IMS activities which includes establishing the IMS & maintaining company ISO certification.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Document and communicate all Integrated Management System and policies in line with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, OHSAS18001:2007 and ISO14001:2015.
  • Supporting the business in the developing, defining, updating and improving of business processes and procedures.
  • Compliance auditing completed and certified internally and externally to ensure compliance to ISO 9001:2015, OHSAS18001:2007 and ISO14001:2015
  • The identification of non-conformance and possible non-conformances, managing the corrective and preventive action through to successful implementation and closeout.  
  • To collate and analyse all risk statistics and recommend intervention strategies
  • To meet or exceed Customer’s expectations and ultimately to reduce and improve the impacts of its operations, activities and services.
  • To ensure skills transfer and employee training in SHERQ aspects through the continuous mentoring, coaching and induction training for all current and new employees

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the review all business processes procedures and form / templates to ensure continued compliance and business improvement.
  • Maintaining a document management system to ensure access to the latest company governance documentation through revision control and standard document templates.  
  • Liaising with Customer regarding requirements for the continued maintenance of the company’s Policies.
  • Performing internal audits to ensure continued compliance to the requirements of the standards.
  • Ensure that the requirements of management review are met and per defined standards
  • Manage progress of corrections, corrective and preventive actions identified in the business through auditing.
  • To collate and analyse all risk statistics and recommend intervention strategies
  • To identify and implement security measures and to manage the potential threats towards staff and business operations and plan to effectively prevent and handle security incidents
  • To maintain an effective Quality Management System complying with International Standard ISO 9001
  • To ensure skills transfer and people development in all SHERQ environment through continues mentoring, coaching and induction training for new employees

Key Performance Indicators

  • Well developed, implemented, monitored and reviewed Health & Safety strategies, policies and procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices in accordance with ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007
  • Every new employee being trained on SHERQ at all Local Business.
  • Every current employee well trained on the requirements of SHERQ.
  • Timely  development  and deliver/facilitate training/toolbox talks, on health safety and welfare, matters including, but not limited to, risk assessments, induction, manual handling, Working with Electricity, working at heights, stress, fire etc.
  • Ensuring that appropriate training records are maintained.
  • Compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Well achieved and maintained level of quality which enhances the Company’s reputation with customers.
  • Well established security structure to mitigate risks, investigate incidents/security violations and other events
  • Conducted Country specific due diligence on an on-going basis,
  • Conducted security risk assessments in co-operation with designated persons to introduce best pro-active measures and risk mitigation strategies with the aim to ensure safe operations for staff and enhance protection of assets,
  • High level of awareness created on all levels within the company to ensure safe and secure operations.
  • Well collated and analyzed accident statistics and recommend intervention strategies to eliminate / reduce the risk of future occurrences and incidents of ill health and lost working days.
  • Timely Submission of exception report on a monthly basis.
  • Attends and follows up on external Customer audits as per Customers body’s requirements.
  • Interface with and assist external auditors during surveillance and re-certification to audits ISO 9001, 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007.
  • Conduct SHERQ Audits as per approved schedule
  • Ensures that all contractors/sub-contractors have in place appropriate Health & Safety Plans and to maintain a register of these Plans.
  • Eliminate / reduce the risk of future occurrences and incidents of ill health and lost working days.  
  • Timely response to safety concerns from employees, safety representatives, and members of the public, relating to the activities of the company or its contractors/subcontractors.
  • Timely submission of weekly reports on all matters pertaining to Quality, Security and HSE
  • Prompt carrying out of investigations and report on accidents/incidences and dangerous occurrences as necessary.   
  • Conduct document review meetings with Operations ensure continued maintenance of all processes, procedures and forms
  • Ensures changes to legislation, codes of practice, regulations, policies and procedures etc are identified, communicated and implemented in an effective and timely manner. 

Required Skills or Experience

  • Auditor certification is mostly required.  
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administrator or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5years’ manager experience required in similar position.
  • Excellent knowledge of IMS, and other associated Quality systems.
  • Training in Quality related fields are advantageous.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating ISO 9001:2015 compliance programs
  • Must be a self-starter and possess strong problem-solving skills

Experience

  • IMS, Management & leadership experience

Knowledge

  • A working knowledge of process improvement skills including Six Sigma, Lean, Knowledge-Management, and Process Design.
  • IMS Management & leadership
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project coordinating.

  • High degree of creativity and smartness.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, decision making, and leadership skills.
  • Must be computer literate (MS Office Suit) and knowledgeable of QA procedures and laws.
