Job Description

A trusted ICT and Telecommunications Company in Ghana is looking for Procurement Officer for immediate employment

Job Purpose

  • The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services while adhering to the organization’s budget, quality standards, and specifications.
  • This role supports the Procurement Manager and works closely with internal stakeholders to source and purchase materials, services, and products required for operations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and source suppliers that meet the organization’s requirements for goods
  • and services
  • Obtain quotes and conduct price comparisons to ensure competitive pricing and value for money
  • Issue purchase orders, track orders, and follow up on deliveries
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of approved suppliers and manage the supplier database
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm delivery schedules, product specifications, and service requirements
  • Ensure that goods and services are delivered on time and according to the agreed- upon terms
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure that procurement orders are made in accordance with the organization's needs
  • Track delivery timelines and ensure that all incoming goods meet the necessary quality standards and specifications
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms for the organization
  • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with internal procurement policies and regulatory requirements

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Supply Chain Management/Logistics or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing procurement operations
  • Proven track record of managing budgets and cost-saving initiatives
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes and best practices
