Job Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and driving revenue growth for the consulting firm. This role involves strategic planning, market research, proposal development, and collaboration with internal teams to deliver tailored consulting solutions to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Research & Strategy
- Analyze market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities.
- Identify potential clients and new market segments.
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans.
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Generate leads through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers.
- Understand client needs and propose appropriate consulting solutions.
- Proposal & Pitch Development
- Collaborate with consultants to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
- Lead the RFP/RFQ response process.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals.
- Collaboration & Internal Coordination
- Work closely with consulting teams to ensure client expectations are met.
- Provide feedback from clients to improve service offerings.
- Support marketing initiatives and brand positioning.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain CRM systems and track sales metrics.
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities and outcomes.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in business development, preferably in a consulting or professional services environment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of consulting services and client needs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
