Job Description

The health financing Coordinator will be responsible for corporate business growth of centres with a critical focus on Private Medical Insurance Providers & NHIS, learning Institutions, SMEs and Corporate Organizations. The post holder will develop, grow and manage these income streams.The post holder must be able to identify and seek opportunities to expand the insurance and corporate business base through harnessing the current clients and enrolling new ones. The post holder will be the client liaison person, seeking to improve repeat visits and assuring client satisfaction and referral. The Health Financing Officer should be able to sustain close and collaborative relationships with other departments to leverage opportunities that drive business. This function will entail aspects of Business & Market analysis, New business development, Relationship Management, Business remodelling with the incorporation of innovations. The Health Financing Coordinator shall be responsible for credit management for all the centres channel corporate Business.
The post holder in collaboration with Head of Clinic operations will manage or be responsible for the implementation of the clinic channel in the field while maintaining the closest of professional relations with centre managers and their teams. Additionally, the post holder is expected to contribute to organisation-wise strategy and to model key leadership behaviours and to demonstrate the organisation’s values.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead in provision of analysed corporate business information critical for centres.
- Develop documentation indicating strategically critical information on medical business, both in a local and international context relating to practices, competition, best practices, innovations, and micro and macro factors driving business.
- Develop situational analysis relating to corporate business and essential to strategy formulation for
- Centres.
- Support centres at a national and Centre level in corporate strategy development.
- Develop corporate business analysis, assessing profitability of the centres and service offerings and providing critical recommendations and supporting teams in the implementations of the recommendations.
- Provide the centre teams with accurate, relevant and comprehendible corporate data and analyses to inform their periodic plans and strategies.
- Develop documentation which the Centres Channel Lead can use to determine actual costs of services to inform costing and price setting during the annual business plan process.
2. Lead Centre teams in the implementation of business strategy & plans
- Provide documentation to support Centre teams in the development of localised corporate business strategies, informed by analysed data and information.
- Develop documentation which will guide teams in the development of time bound corporate business plans and forge way forward.
3. Manage all Centre related corporate relations
- Develop and update Insurance and Corporate company database for existing prospective and potential clients
- Document, update and archive all related contractual documents annually in line with the business plan.
- Ensure that current corporate & insurance companies have our latest and updated pricelists.
- Provide documented support and ensure that all centres have a clear understanding of the terms and conditions for service between MSIG and the companies.
- Ensure that all centres are clearly branded with the signage of the corporate and insurance companies we represent.
- Lead in the gathering of essential feedback from corporate & insurance companies and clients relating to the quality and level satisfaction received from our centres, lead in all related client feedback surveys and research.
- Hold client/ beneficiaries’ events/ activities that promote the image of our centres and the quality
- of our services annually.
- Develop a quarterly information newsletter that is provided to all our corporate insurance clients shared online and on MSIG website.
- Ensure Effective systems for the timely and accurate management and reporting of information
- through efficient collection, analysis and reporting of data from the Centre teams
4. business Lead in new business development and growth especially for corporate
- Take lead to expand the client base of the medical insurance providers signed on to MSK
- Devise documented mechanisms to increase client inflow from the already existing companies.
- Provide documented support in the expansion of corporate clients in our centre networks through signing of more health centres, instituting new relationships in form of franchises etc.
- Work together with the head of clinic operations to develop a proficient and profitable service offering/ mix informed by market information and client preference.
5. Lead in the Financial Management of the corporate and Insurance business
- Have a clearly documented tracking system of all revenue from Corporate and insurance business
- Develop a strategic documentation to manage and control rejections and reduce them tonegligible amounts.
- Have a document indicating that all insurance claims from our centres are paid on time
- Develop documents which will enable the management of disputes relating to Corporate and insurance business.
- Provide documents which will lead in projecting corporate and insurance business for all centre
6. Reinforcing Business Processes and Compliance
- Provide strategic contribution to the Country Program Business Planning process and translate BP aspiration into annual and quarterly plans for Corporate Business Plan. Quarterly plans will be shared widely with all centre managers and other stakeholders. The Health Financing coordinator will set realistic and achievable quarterly, monthly, and annual targets for centres and provide necessary on demand support to achieve them.
- Develop SoPs for standardizing process in corporate business management in centres and at support office.
- Communication and orientation of all centres’ teams on all standard operating procedures and
- ensure universal understanding and monitor compliance on a quarterly basis.
- Conduct quarterly analyses of business performance including risks and cause quarterly review meetings with line managers and other internal stakeholders. Relatedly, the Health Financing coordinator will conduct quarterly performance reviews with clients and derive understanding of performance drivers and strategies for improvement and business growth and assessing risks of the relationships.
7. Client Engagement.
- This function is aimed at building a healthy and profitable relationship with Clients and other external stakeholders
- In collaboration with the marketing team, develop materials and pitches for use in client engagement. This involves using market research to create pitches and materials that best reach the target audience and drive business growth.
- Develop and implement annual plans and translate them into quarterly plans and ensure client quarterly engagement activities are conducted and reported on.
- Researching and identifying sales opportunities, generating leads, and targeting potential clients and looking for and establishing contact with prospective customers and clients.
8. Credit Management for Centres Corporate Business
- Responsible for proactively managing the debts of the Centres channel from existing clients, ensure approval and manage new requests for credit.
- Closely liaise with accountants/ Finance to implement and deliver accurate and efficient credit control mechanisms (including timely billing of customers) while ensuring compliance with the credit policy.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients to ensure the smooth running of customer accounts.
- Managing the debts with customers by following up payments as needed to ensure that payments are collected within the approved credit period (debt recovery).
- Responsible for follow up and implementation of credit management committee recommendations as appropriate.
- Lead customer accounts reconciliation processes, working with the finance team and address customer queries in a timely fashion.
- In collaboration with finance team, regularly assess credit policy effectiveness in line with any changes in the legal and business environment and recommend appropriate updates while safeguarding the interests of MSIG from credit risk.
- Ensure approval and manage customer repayment plans (if any) as appropriate.

Required Skills or Experience
To succeed in this role, you must have the following
Qualifications
- University degree in Health Systems Management, Actuarial Science, Business Administration or related discipline.
- Master’s degree in related field is desirable.
- Other professional qualifications, ideally in project management, Insurance sales & marketing or sexual and reproductive health desired
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in sales and corporate relationship management with a reputable health Insurance organization.
- Knowledge of Health Marketing and medical service trends in the country.
- Knowledge of Clinical Health Services Family planning, corporate engagement and Marketing an added advantage.
- Previous experience working in health service provision especially Family planning, maternal child health or community health areas an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office application including MS Excel, Power point and internet is mandatory
- Proven excellent technical oral, written, abilities; ability to present and write influentially for multiple audiences
- Ability to work well with others in team environments, build consensus and drive change.
- Must be able to satisfy stakeholders
