ROLE SUMMARY
To support the planning, coordination, and implementation of all insurance-related activities under the FILMA project. The Officer will serve as a liaison between the project implementation team, Private Agricultural Service
Providers (PASPs), and community stakeholders to ensure successful enrolment, education, and servicing of beneficiaries under the microinsurance solution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Implementation & Coordination
- Support the development and execution of workplans and insurance rollout strategies.
- Coordinate insurance sensitization, enrolment campaigns, and premium collection exercises in collaboration with the PASPs.
- Supervise and support PASPs to ensure compliance with project procedures and service delivery standards.
- Monitor insurance outages across project sites and provide regular reports on enrolment trends and field challenges.
- Post onboarding engagements
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, farmer groups, PASPs, and other local actors to enhance insurance adoption.
- Participate in district-level planning and review meetings with implementing partners.
- Represent Enterprise Life at project meetings, training, and field visits as assigned.
Training & Capacity Building
- Organize training sessions for PASPs and community agents on insurance products, onboarding tools, and client engagement strategies.
- Assist in the development and dissemination of Insurance Education and Communication (IEC)
- materials tailored to local audiences.
- Facilitate continuous learning and support for field staff on digital onboarding tools and claims processes.
Monitoring, Reporting & Learning
- Collect and analyze data on insurance uptake, claims, complaints, and client feedback.
- Prepare field visit reports, case studies, and success stories to feed into project learning and donor reporting.
- Support impact assessments and mid- and at the end of the year project evaluations as required.
Required Skills or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma/ Risk Management, Business Administration, Development Studies, or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in microinsurance, inclusive finance, or development project implementation.
- Knowledge of insurance distribution models and experience working with rural communities or smallholder farmers is an advantage.
- Familiarity with digital onboarding tools and mobile platforms.
- Excellent communication skills in English and at least one local language in the project area.
- Strong coordination and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A good knowledge of the area and fluency in the local language pertaining to the area of operation.
