Job Description

World Vision Ghana is looking for a highly qualified, proactive, motivated and resourceful person to fill the position of Finance Manager - Operations.

Job Summary
To provide effective and efficient strategic support to the Finance Director in supervising, managing and directing field Finance Operations to achieve the department’s objective.

The Package 

  • The position is based in Accra with some level of domestic/international travel. 
  • S/He reports to the Finance & Support Services Director.
  • Provides supervision to 4 Regional Office Accountants

Key Responsibilities 

  • Conduct field visits to review operational base financial records of accounts, control systems and procedures.  
  • Ensure timely submission of relevant, complete and accurate projects/grants monthly and quarterly finance reports.
  • Provide supervision to field finance staff to ensure finance objectives are accomplished.
  • Build capacity of operations and field finance staff in financial management and budgeting.
  • Provide finance staff and Project Managers with technical support in preparing and presenting the annual budgets.
  • Monitor monthly project cash spending against approved budget. 
  • Lead the implementation and review of Regional and Global Center initiatives in World Vision Ghana Office. 

Required Skills or Experience

  • Degree in Accounting or Chartered Accountant.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience 2 of which should be in leadership role.
  • Advance user of SunSystem
  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
  • Must have good working knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, budgets/cash flow monitoring and internal controls.
  • Advanced MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to make timely and informed decisions taking into account facts, goals, constraints and risks.
  • Ability to exhibit financial management skills.
  • Must be able to manage a team in way that improve their ability to succeed on the job and motivates them to achieve organization’s goals.
