Job Description

  • Reports to: Director/ Regional manager
  • Number of slots: 1
  • Nationality preferred: Ghanaian (Good knowledge and connections with Ghanaian markets)

Summary:
Area Sales Managers handle the sales activities in particular locations under their jurisdiction. The role involves organizing and supervising members of the sales team and making sure that any set targets are consistently met. Ideal candidate must be an expert in understanding the sales market and trends, building client relationships and an excellent negotiator and communicator.

Job responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and increasing sales of the company's products
  • Reaching the targets and goals set for your area
  • Establishing, maintaining and expanding your customer base
  • Servicing the needs of your existing customers
  • Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market
  • Setting sales targets for individual representatives and your team as a whole
  • Recruiting and training sales staff
  • Allocating areas to sales representatives
  • Developing sales strategies and setting targets
  • Monitoring your team's performance and motivating them to reach targets
  • Compiling and analyzing sales figures
  • Possibly dealing with some major customer accounts yourself
  • Collecting customer feedback and market research
  • Reporting to senior managers
  • Keeping up to date with products and competitors
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of products and services
  • Conducting performance reviews
  • Training staff in new techniques

Required Skills or Experience

  • HND or Degree from a recognized institution.
  • At least 10+ years’ experience in a reputable fast moving consumer goods organization(s) in a supervisory or similar position. Whole sale food brand in Ghana preferred.
  • Candidate must be very aggressive towards sales and result oriented
  • Candidate should already have a clientele basis of about 100 – 150 within Accra.
  • Strong analytical, presentation and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and motivational skills be persistent and effective.
  • Strategic planning and implementation.
  • Good computer skills: Excel, power point, etc.
  • should be able to manage a team, meet deadlines and be flexible.
  • Operational, time and stress management
  • Candidate must have strong organizational and planning
  • Must be very proactive and responsible
  • An organized, problem-solving attitude towards work
