Since 2011, the Brigitte & Bobby Sherman Children's Foundation (BBSCF) has been providing motivated students in Ghana with a high-quality education and music program, thus giving them the tools they need to pursue higher education and become successful, contributing adults. BBSCF funds primary and secondary school tuition and fees, tutoring and enrichment activities, and music lessons focusing on indigenous and other world music.

Job Description

Position Description:

• The Country Development Consultant is the Ghanaian fundraiser for BBSCF and creates and implements fundraising campaigns.
• The individual is responsible for creating a strategy for soliciting school bags, exercise books, stationary materials, as well as small to mid-scale donations from donors (private, public and corporate).
• The Development Consultant will work under the supervision of the Communications and Development Manager to ensure the long-term sustainability of BBSCF.
• The position reports directly to the Communications and Development Manager and Ghanaian Country Manager of BBSCF.

Job Description:

• Create and execute a fundraising strategy for soliciting materials and funds
• Create a balanced and sustainable funding mix of various donor sources
• Ensure donors are recognized and their in-kind donations and monies are used as requested
• Write and submit solicitation letters, as well as thank you letters
• Arrange meetings with potential in-country funders and donors

Required Skills or Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (REQUIRED)   
• 2-5 years of fundraising in some professional capacity.
