The Ghana Philanthropy Forum is a not for profit organization registered in Ghana. As a philanthropy support organization, we work to strengthen the capacities of not for profit organizations and networks; developing knowledge products through cutting edge research and building social action partnerships with public and private corporations in aid of increasing the visibility and ability of non-profit organizations to leverage resources to support their activities. Through research, we scale up approaches that work, disseminate learning and best practices, and convening stakeholders to promote broader collaboration and impact.

Job Description

The National Philanthropy Forum seeks to engage interested individuals on a voluntary bases to research, plan, organize and co-ordinate the forth coming National Forum & Philanthropy Excellence Awards 2018.The Forum is scheduled to be held at the Accra International Conference Center on March 28-29, 2018. We seek the following who are capable of working with minimal supervision.

Duration: January to March, 2018 (Full Time/Part Time or Flexible Hours)

Work Location: Batsona Total, Spintex Road-Accra

Main duties

• Organize registration of participants, prepare programs and promotional material, and publicize events
• Meet professional associations and other groups to promote and discuss conference
• Meet with sponsors and organizing committee to plan scope and format of events, to establish and monitor budgets and to review administrative procedures and progress of events.

CONFERENCE INFORMATION

The National Philanthropy Forum (NPF) is an open forum for development professionals, public and private development inclined practitioners and third sector organizations. The forum will showcase how different bodies are filling development gaps where government is short, and also assess the quantum of philanthropic impact.

The Challenge

We are faced with the consequences of economic uncertainty, high unemployment, disenfranchisement and disconnectedness, environmental damage and threat to sustainability on a range of levels. Worryingly there is also a growing disconnection between wealth and wellbeing. This is a concern in itself and it increases the suffering resulting from the above issues. Indigenous charity and philanthropy has the potential to move the country forward. The forum is also aimed at initiating a proactive drive to systematic documentation of the value of the third sector in our country’s development.

Purpose of Event

The forum hopes to attain the following goals among others;

• Bringing different organizations and individuals to dialogue on the importance of the role of the third sector in national development
• Provide a platform for networking opportunities and partnerships for development partners, foundations, public and private sector institutions to enhance collective impact
• Opportunity to showcase Corporate Social Responsibility endeavors in the country
• It is an opportunity to gauge and track the quantum of charitable activities in the country
• An opportunity to unearth individual philanthropic and charitable endeavors in the country

Required Skills or Experience

• Must be computer literate, self motivated, eloquent and able to multi-task.
