Job Description

A Multinational fish producing company in the outskirts of Bamako, Mali, is looking for a well motivated individual to fill the position of Hatchery and Nursery Supervisor to eventually become the Hatchery Manager. Accommodation with utilities provided and Free health Care plus other benefits.

• This position reports directly to the Farm Manager.

Required Skills or Experience

• Five years practical and working experience in a recognized related field is essential.
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Fisheries, Aquatic Science or related sciences but with over seven years practical working experience can also apply.
• A post graduate education will be an added advantage
• Analytical skills, scientific and practical knowledge of the processes and operations of fish hatcheries are essential for success.
• Candidate must possess a valid Passport and a valid driver's license
• Knowledge of French is an added advantage

• Experience in fish farming is crucial, but a bachelor's degree in fisheries management or fisheries science also will prove useful as the industry expands. Since fishery managers are primarily managers,  Thus, future fishery managers should start as fish hatchery workers or gain practical experience as interns on fish farms.  Fishery manager also supervises workers and prepares budget reports required by Company.  

PREREQUISITES: 

• Fishery managers must have strong analytical, research, business management, and administrative skills. Also, because many of their business decisions rely on cooperation with biologists and other experts, fishery managers need superb oral communication skills.
• Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, , Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Master's Degree, Agriculture/Aquaculture/Forestry, Biology, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Others, BioTechnology or equivalent.
• Preferably Managers specializing in Agriculture/Forestry/Fisheries or equivalent.
