WSUP is a non-profit partnership between the private sector, NGOs and research institutions focused on solving the global problem of inadequate water and sanitation in low-income urban communities. WSUP brings lasting solutions to low-income areas by working in partnership with service providers, including water utilities, local authorities and businesses, and the communities they serve. WSUP strengthens the capacity of service providers to deliver sustainable city-wide water and sanitation services, promote good hygiene and raise the environmental standards of low-income communities.

From incorporation in 2005, WSUP has grown rapidly to a £10â€/12m organisation and has plans for further expansion over the next five years. The organisation is now at a pivotal stage in its growth. It presently operates six well-developed, respected country programmes in Africa and Asia (Bangladesh, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Zambia) to strengthen public and private sector service providers to improve the delivery of affordable services to low income consumers WSUP has recently expanded its portfolio of operations to include the building and strengthening of private sector provision in urban water and sanitation services and the sale of consulting services on all aspects of low income urban WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) to disseminate learning and increase impact. All of these operations are supported by research, communications, funding and finance and resources teams.

Job Description

Contract Name: Construction of 1No. 20-Seater Water Closet Toilet Facility for Domeabra in the Asante Akyem North District of Ashanti Region.

1. Water and Sanitation for Urban Poor (WSUP) with funding from Knorr Bremse Global Care, and in collaboration with Asante Akyem North District Assembly is implementing a Project entitled “Catalysing Systematic Change through the Provision of Sustainable Water Services in Small Towns of Ashanti Region, Ghana”.
 
2. WSUP intends to apply part of the funds towards the cost of construction of sanitation facility in Domeabra in the Asante Akyem North District of the Ashanti Region. 
 
3. WSUP now invites Tenders from prospective Tenderers for any or all of the following projects.

5.Tender documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible Tenderers upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Three hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 300) from the hours between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM (local time), Mondays to Fridays at the Employers Office given above. The method of payment will be cash or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency. The document will be issued to Tenderers immediately after payment of the approved fee at the following places.
 
a.The Employer’s Office (refer to Sections 3 and 4a above)
 
6. The Tender shall be valid for 90 days after Tender opening and must be accompanied by the requisite tender security from Bank acceptable to the employer.

7. Tenders shall be delivered to the address below on or before 10:00 AM (local time) on Monday, 25th February, 2019. The Tender opening shall take place immediately after the deadline for submission.
