Report To: General Manager, Operations

Job Brief

The Job Holder will be in charge of managing the Company’s strategic communication and marketing objectives to portray it as a vibrant brand that engages customers & stakeholders and builds brand recognition.

Job responsibilities

  • Ensure the implementation of effective communication strategies which enable the organization work towards the achievement of its vision, mission and values. 
  • Develop and put into effect a strategic direction for all subsidiaries under the Group.
  • Effectively communicate and create an awareness of Group brand and the annual operation plan, whilst executing and delivering to agreed KPI’s. 
  • Develop and Manage the budgets regarding Advertising and Promoting the Group brand in order to yield desired results in general business development.
  • Safeguard the effective alignment of the agreed strategic direction as per the Company’s portfolio.
  • Manage and ensure the evaluation of the various skills possessed by junior members of staff whilst facilitating effective and continuous development of the needed skills on the job.
  • Accountability for the annual spend budget of all subsidiaries’ portfolio.
  • Advance and grow ideas which support the Company’s vision and goal.

Key Deliverables

  • Profiling the Company as a world-class institution in line with the Groups’ vision and mission.
  • Spearheading all communications of the Company and ensuring that all information emanating from the Company is appropriate and necessary, in line with promoting the good name and image of the Company.
  • Manage and offer strategic communications support to the MD, Departmental Managers, and Business Unit Heads.
  • Communications regarding situations of crisis and effective management of reputational risk.
  • Take charge of all Internal communications.
  • Take charge and manage all online communications (Web and social media) effectively to promote the good name of the Company.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Masters/Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, public relations or relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Must possess good organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques.
