Job Description

Hollard Insurance is looking for Business Development Officers

Job Objective
To provide excellent service to clients and stakeholders by managing relationships and prospecting/selling Hollard Insurance policies to existing and prospective clients.

Report to:   General Manager, Business Development  

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Sell Hollard Insurance products to corporate and individual clients.
  2. Achieve and exceed monthly and yearly premium targets for new business and renewal of existing businesses.
  3. Initiate and develop relationships with corporate bodies and individuals with the aim of generating business as per agreed targets.
  4. Recommend or implement changes to improve productivity, profitability, and growth
  5. Prospect for clients and carry out presentations on company’s products and services
  6. Ensure that policy transactions (i.e., quotes, new business, endorsements, renewals, post loss, cancellations) are issued and changes recorded accurately and in a timely manner
  7. Compliance with processes, policies and procedures and identify areas for improvement

Required Skills or Experience

  1. University Degree or HND in Marketing
  2. At least four (4) years’ experience in sales and relationship management skills
  3. Knowledge in insurance products and terminology
  4. Knowledge in risk assessment and insurance rating principles
  5. Good communication skills (including writing and presentation skills)
  6. Good computer skills especially in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
