Job Description

A reputable and rapidly growing organization is seeking the services of a smart, confident, performance oriented and experienced professional to occupy the position of Head, Business Development.


Business and Financial Performance

  • Develop a customer centric growth strategy focused on improved profitability for PASL
  • Develop a market orientation towards extending financial services to the low – income, unbanked and under-banked communities
  • Design and implement tactical sales/marketing promotional activities 
  • Responsible for the identification of relevant new business opportunities and designs "go-to-market" plan to deliver measurable , significant revenues and profitability
  • Generates business opportunities through prospecting mass market programs and leveraging third party partners. 
  • Executes aggressive strategies and plans to successfully drive our products and services as the preferred customer selection
  • Plans and carries out all activities to achieve credit disbursement objectives
  • Leads in product development when required
  • Joint responsibility for the revenue budgets of the Deposits and E-Business Departments

Client Centricity 

  • Work with the research Department to conduct research to identify new emerging markets and customer needs which can be serviced profitably
  • Enhance customer experience with personalized products and services

People Management
Motivate and support Branch Managers to implement strategies to bridge gaps and meet set targets in deposits, credit and e-business

Process, Control and Operational Performance

  • Take responsible steps to ensure that relevant business information is accessible to stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance to internal procedures and processes
  • Ensure no or minimized operation risk
  • No audit exceptions
  • All regulatory requirements should be followed 

Required Skills or Experience

Master’s degree in Administration, finance or marketing or a closely related field

A minimum of eight (8) years post graduate experience in credit operations for micro & small businesses

Skills and Competencies

  • Track record in a management position of a financial institution servicing the MSME sector. 
  • Knowledge of bank and/or non-bank financial institution operations.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills;  
  • Ability to multitask and work within deadlines; 
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel,  & Outlook (or similar software);  
  • Basic analytical and statistical skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management and employees.
  • Excellent relationship management with good presentation skills.  
  • Must be adaptable, innovative, and possess good analytical skills & sound judgment; 
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to work well with people from varied backgrounds and cultures at all levels in the organization.
