    Gender equity, child rights and inclusion have always been at the heart of EduSpots’ approach.

    This is a new role being introduced to lead the development of a new Keeping Spots Safe education badge, building on the network’s work in this area across the past 10 years. The role holder will need to be passionate about child rights education, with the creativity and commitment to make an impact through resource design, programme development and Catalyst engagement.

    This role will also offer additional support to our popular Ignite Equity strand for JHS 2 Learners, which involves weekly club meetings and learner engagement in monthly challenges that stretch across themes such as careers, drug abuse, sexual harassment, period poverty, entrepreneurship, and gender stereotypes, developed in response to what matters locally. We also aim to strengthen the support offered to female leadership across the network, with this role offering the leadership and problem-solving needed to make a tangible change through a community-led model.

    This role will require genuine interest, sustained passion and creativity, alongside the ability to work closely alongside rural change makers, most of whom are teachers, to develop EduSpots’ work further. As a leadership role, this will also involve an ability to input into the strategic direction of the organisation and offer support to staff across the team, acting as a role model for all our professional expectations.

    We are looking for someone who is creative, collaborative and genuinely enjoys co-creating ideas to promote gender equity and inclusion, drawing from local knowledge, ideas and aspirations in the process.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Directly lead the development of a new Keeping Spots Safe education badge, working closely with the Digital Skills and Innovation Manager and the Global Head of Operations.

    • Co-create wider strategies to ensure that every learner’s rights are protected, with strong passing it on processes in place, and learners’ voices not just heard, but their opinions and ideas integrated.

    • Line manage the Gender Equity and Inclusion Coordinator, who in turn facilitates the Ignite Equity clubs programme, working with 25 communities in the process.

    • Lead the development of a new female leadership support strategy, across the network.

    • Review monthly challenges in gender equity and beyond which exemplify our pedagogical methodology using play-based, practical, and learner-centred strategies.

    • Provide outstanding feedback to Catalysts on their monthly challenges, where needed.

    • Work with the team to create resources and lead effective online and in-person engagement across gender equity, inclusion, safeguarding, citizenship education and wider leadership themes.

    • Support Catalysts in the effective use of the EduSpots App in the area of gender equity, inclusion and Keeping Spots Safe, supporting App development.

    • Support a strong monitoring, evaluation and learning framework and support in data collection and reporting on gender equity.

    • Support the EduCitizens community, facilitated by EduSpots, of citizenship educators from across 14 countries.

    • Support fundraising and partnerships development in the area of gender equity, child rights and inclusion.

    • Contribute to regular information and stories on the gender equity, inclusion and child rights education.

    • Ensure that the child protection and safeguarding policies are followed at all times by all involved in activities.

    • To contribute to the leadership of the organisation, through working collaboratively within a management team in the interests of the organisation’s broader mission.

    Personal Qualities, Skills & Experience

    • A genuine passion for child rights education, gender equity, inclusion and wider citizenship education themes.

    • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in education, development, psychology, gender studies, politics or any area that relates to this theme.

    • An ability to work with and inspire volunteers with differing levels of educational experience in promoting early years literacy development in their communities. A minimum of two years teaching experience in a related subject.

    • Strong technical understanding of both gender equity and child rights education, with experience in leading or developing programmes in one or both areas.

    • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work to maintain a high standard of performance with minimum supervision.

    • Experience working with volunteers and/or in rural Ghanaian communities in an education context.

    • Strong IT skills and confidence in using social media channels and an ability to use simple design software such as Canva.

    Position Summary

Background

Through engagements with young women with disabilities, organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), and some women-focused organizations, the project has developed two documents (Guidelines and Toolkit) that outlines practical issues relating to barriers and opportunities for inclusive education for girls with disabilities in Ghana. Consequently, some advocacy efforts are needed to push for addressing the identified barriers and materializing the opportunities. To strengthen evidence-based advocacy and influence policy and practice, SPADRA Project seeks to engage a qualified advocacy expert to develop a comprehensive Advocacy Strategy with accompanying two-year Action Plan that will guide coordinated advocacy efforts at national and district levels.

Purpose of the Consultancy
To develop a practical, gender and disability inclusive Advocacy Strategy and a two-year Action Plan that will guide advocacy initiatives aimed at increasing access to quality, equitable, and inclusive education for girls with disabilities in Ghana.

Scope of Work

The consultant will:

  • Review relevant international or national policies, laws, research, and project documents on inclusive education and disability rights.

  • Consult key stakeholders, including Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), key international organizations in Ghana including UNICEF, UN Women, Sightsavers, Plan International and World Vision as well as relevant government institutions.

  • Facilitate a one-day stakeholder validation workshop.

  • Develop a two-year advocacy strategy with clear advocacy objectives, target audiences, key messages, advocacy approaches, partnerships, communication channels, monitoring indicators, and risk mitigation measures.

  • Develop a detailed two-year implementation action plan with activities, timelines, responsible actors, and indicative resource requirements.

  • Revise the documents based on stakeholder feedback and submit final versions.

Deliverables

The consultant will deliver:

  • An inception report with methodology and work plan.

  • Draft Advocacy Strategy.

  • Draft Two-Year Advocacy Action Plan.

  • Validation workshop report.

Duration

Qualifications

The consultant should possess:

The Ghana Private Sector Competitiveness Programme Phase II (GPSCP II), in technical collaboration with GIZ MOVE/ComCashew, invites qualified individual consultants to submit proposals to provide organizational development, policy advocacy and stakeholder engagement support to the Association of Cashew Processors Ghana (ACPG).

The assignment seeks to strengthen ACPG’s governance, operational effectiveness, policy advocacy capacity, stakeholder engagement, and long-term institutional and financial sustainability.

Scope of Assignment

The selected consultant will be responsible for conducting an institutional needs assessment, strengthening ACPG’s policy advocacy capacity, facilitating stakeholder mapping, developing an Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement Strategy, providing technical advisory support, and preparing an institutional sustainability and resource mobilisation plan.

Duration

The assignment will be implemented from August to November 2026, with an estimated level of effort of 35 working days.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in organizational development, Public Policy, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field;

  • At least ten years of relevant professional experience in organizational development, advocacy strategy formulation, and institutional strengthening of business membership organizations or industry associations;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Ghana’s agricultural value chains and regulatory environment;

  • Excellent written and spoken English; and

  • Proficiency in Twi or another Ghanaian language.

  • Experience in the cashew or oil palm sector will be an advantage.
