Job Description

Job Summary
  • Manage clinical training and support community activation components of “Increasing Access to Long Acting & Reversible Methods” project
  • Manage relationships with the Ministry of Health (MoH), Ghana Health Services (GHS), and other FP / SRH partners.
  • Provide strategic analysis and critical thinking to further company goals.
  • Responsible for family planning (FP) and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) advice and counsel.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage clinical training and supports community activation components of “Increasing IUD, Implant, Injectable and Medical Abortion (MA) Availability and Use” 
    • Develop detailed implementation plan to deliver technical clinical training for counselling, insertion and removal of multiple types of IUDs and implants, prescription, and provision of medical abortion.
    • Conduct clinical needs assessment prior to family planning activation in partner clinics.
    • In conjunction with marketing team and advertising agency, develop and adapt materials to be used in clinical training and community programming.
    • Ensure activities are in line with budget planning and expectation.
  • Manage relationships with the Ministry of Health (MoH), Ghana Health Services (GHS), and other FP / SRH partners.
    • Develop innovative public / private partnerships (PPP) to increase uptake and sales of long-term family planning methods. 
    • Develop, direct and oversee management of relationships with private healthcare outlets and providers.
    • Manage relationships with all stakeholders in FP and SRH, such as the Ghana Registered Midwives Association (GRMA), local and international NGOs, international health officers, etc.
  • Provide strategic analysis and critical thinking to further company goals
    • Ensure effective overall strategies for information, education, and communication (IEC) activities.
    • Develop detailed technical strategies to accompany and drive sales targets and CPR / share goals.
    • Collaborate with Sales & Distribution Manager to increase DKT product distribution in clinical channels.
    • Design and execute effective quality assurance strategies at Lydia Partner Clinics
  • Provide family planning and sexual and reproductive training, health advice and counsel.
    • Advice CD, sales team, brand managers and Lydia Contact Center (LCC) on technical aspects of FP and SRH to ensure DKT provides timely and accurate information in the field.
    • Conduct Regional Community Representatives (RCRs) capacity building through product knowledge training and field supportive supervision
    • Keep all DKT employees up-to-date on FP and SRH developments, statistics, and innovations.
    • Conduct periodic quality technical assessments (QTAs) with partners clinics and providers to ensure optimal competencies and skills
    • Be the voice of DKT to healthcare providers and other FP / SRH stakeholders with regards to technical information.
    • Responsible for accurate technical communication in all DKT products, IEC, and marketing materials.

Other Duties:

  • Represent DKT with all partners including, but not limited to: MoH and GHS representatives, donors, NGOs, consultants -- maintaining positive, professional relationships and image.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Country Director.
  • Assure confidentiality in handling business related issues.

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum Education
  • Post-graduate  training in public health or other relevant discipline
  • Clinical degree in nursing with emphasis on midwifery is a plus.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 7 years mid-senior level experience in designing, implementing or managing large, complex FP / SRH training and outreach programs.
  • Demonstrated track record working with mid and senior level MoH and GHS FPD officials.
  • Experience with and understanding of Ghana’s law providing access to safe abortions. 
  • Proven knowledge of the private clinic landscape in Ghana, with existing strong relationships and networks within the sector.
