Job Description

The Role
The primary role of the Wellness Coach is to promote a culture of wellbeing by developing and deploying a Wellness Program that embeds wellbeing into everyday life and improves the overall employee experience. 

The Wellness Program will include design and facilitation of training sessions, engagement events aligned to the wellness framework and one to one and group work.  You will work with individuals whose role is to moderate content on social media (potentially including violence, terrorism, language, abuse).  You will offer support and counselling on a one to one and group basis.

The outcomes of the program are to raise awareness around health and wellbeing, to encourage employees to improve and take ownership of their wellbeing, to bolster employee resilience, to help people managers spot the signs of ill health and assist them in supporting their team. The scope of the program will include both office environments and remote working.

Role summary

  • Deliver an innovative and effective wellness program and interventions to encourage positive lifestyle choices and or make recommendations for changes in personal habits to bolster resilience
  • Create awareness around wellness resources and materials that lead to self-development 
  • Use data to continually evaluate the quality and effectiveness of program
  • Provide one-on-one counselling and coaching sessions to team members
  • Assess individuals’ wellbeing across the wellness dimensions, and propose appropriate interventions
  • Run an engagement program to support holistic wellbeing 
  • Set up an engagement council to help drive engagement
  • Support the team members’ onboarding
  • Provide guidance and training to People Managers to help them support their teams and approach the topic of wellbeing with confidence
  • Facilitate training sessions on wellness topics including but not limited to resilience and wellbeing, stress management, nutrition, weight management, physical fitness, work life balance
  • Create and administer surveys to gather data and employee feedback. Analyze the results and make recommendations for actions
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on the wellness program, its implementation and effectiveness using data and reports
  • Collaborate with wellness partners/vendors to ensure high quality products and services are delivered and well-utilized
  • Undertakes risk analyses and makes recommendations to for changes and ensuring regulatory compliance (wherever applicable)

 

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology, counseling, health promotion, or related health field
  • Qualified Counsellor
  • Experience as a wellness coach in a corporate setting preferred
  • Proven experience in health management: prevention, screening, behavior modification, and other holistic wellness management models

  • Experience with metric management and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently

Required Languages
Ability to speak Yoruba, Ibo or Hausa fluently/proficiently
