Job Description

Job summary: 

To plan, organize and facilitating Training Courses with focus on Active Learning and in line with AMO Programme policies and doing such within budget and to standard

Duties on Training

  • Co -Creating a curriculum to facilitate strategic training in the whole concept of AMO Programme’s Active Learning
  • Aligning training with AMO Programme’s strategic goals
  • Implementing effective and purposeful training methods on Active Learning
  • Creating a training budget and keep operations within budget
  • Developing training programmes making the best use of available resources
  • Evaluating and updating the effectiveness of training programmes
  • Developing the production of manuals, handouts, instructional materials and aids
  • Overseeing and contributing towards the creation of online learning modules and other educational materials for teachers
  • Reviewing training materials from a variety of vendors and select materials with appropriate content, fitting AMO’s concept
  • Facilitating training methods and skills to those involved with training
  • Acclimatizing new hires to the business and conducting orientation sessions
  • Teaming up with others in the deliverance of training courses
  • Supporting volunteers within the area of the Training Unit
  • Staying abreast of the new trends and tools concerning education and training
  • Supporting (by training and coaching) AMO Model schools in their performance
  • Teaming up with other Units of the AMO programme to manage human and material resources to meet targets

Duties on Training Administration

  • Carrying out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, mailing, scanning for Training activities
  • Administrating the AMO Model school Programme
  • Organizing and scheduling meetings and appointments within the Training Unit and other bodies
  • Producing and distributing correspondence memos, letters, notes, mails and forms
  • Assisting in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports on Training
  • Developing and maintaining a filing system for the Training Unit
  • Receiving visitors and giving them general support
  • Researching for and creating presentations
  • Ensuring operation of training office equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques
  • Contributing to total Staff efforts by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Organizing travel arrangements for Trainers in cooperation with the Financial Administrator
  • Handling sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Collaborating with the Production Manager for workouts of ideas of new ALMs

Required Skills or Experience

  • Previous working experience as Trainer/Facilitator for minimum 2- 3 years
  • Professional Education qualification or pursuing professional education course will be an added advantage
  • Experience in working in Education
  • Proved knowledge of the curriculum of Basic Education based on Active Learning
  • A proven track record of successfully executed training courses in cooperation with colleagues
  • Administrative skills and experience will be an advantage
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Multitasker and creative thinker and developmental mindset for a growing Training-Unit
  • Hands on mentality and pro-active attitude
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Creative presentation skills
