The position is a permanent role and is based in our Head Office- Accra.

What will your role be?
Reporting to the Chief Information Technology Officer, the Database Management Expert shall provide full life-cycle database support for our core banking system and applications. Maintaining the databases where applicable, running daily basic tasks, running tests as per supporting endusers for the Head Office and branches of the entire institution.

• IT Inception Training
• AMPLITUDE and AIR+ Solutions Help desk

GENERIC ACTIVITIES

• Design and develop application integrating with the core banking solution.
• Identifying deficiencies in the Institutions existing systems, processes, and methods.
• Providing support to different departments by automating bank processes and tasks.
• Providing advice, guidance, and expertise in developing software solutions for the institution.
• Ensure the development stream is accurately discussed during daily stand-up meeting.
• To ensure users are having an improved experience on existing applications.
• To manage and build existing platform in Operations.
• Liaising with other SGBD Experts, Data Analysts and Business Analyst for existing/new reports generation automation.
• To be responsible for the development of intelligent front end and data analytic solutions according to business requirement.
• Database configuration and maintenance.
• Basic administration tasks.
• Report development and testing.
• Tests and IT Procedures writing and update.
• Provide inception training for new staff.
• Maintain a list of issues and follow their resolution.
• Maintain other databases and applications.
• Provide training for new SGBD Expert.

CHALLENGES

• Help Desk constraint to stay at one place to receive calls and address the various users’ requests.
• Constraint to investigate and deliver solution on time to ensure business continuity.

Required Skills or Experience

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related course of study is required. Relevant professional qualification(s) and certification(s) will be an advantage.
• 2 years’ experience in IT / Banking System Support and Training in a financial institution.
• At least 1 year or more experience in SQL scripting.
• Great at Organizing, Prioritizing, and Multitasking.
