Our mission is to improve the safety, well-being, and livelihood of street-connected children and their families. Since the year 2000, we have been committed to nurturing an inclusive environment that embraces the diversity and uniqueness of every child. We employ an integrated approach to strengthen street-connected children and their families and offer unique and tailor-made solutions. Currently, we are on this mission in six (6) locations: Accra, Hebron, Kumasi, Tamale, Takoradi, and Dambai using an integrated approach of street and community work, child reintegration, and effective collaborations with different partners and stakeholders.

 

Job Description

By this, we have employed an integrated approach to strengthen Street Connected Children and their families so that together, we can find unique and tailor-made solutions for brighter prospects.

It is not only important to us that our kids become responsible citizens but also great, skilled professionals. To reach this, we developed the CFC TVET Agency. The model focuses on combining skills (work-based practice, 80%) and knowledge (school-based theory, 20%) with ethical standards (attitude and habits).

We are seeking a passionate and versatile professional to join our dynamic team, who enjoys developing the CFC TVET Agency and implementing a new Model in the North.

The Role

In the role of the TVET Coordinator, you shall:

  • Ensure that the TVET Agency in the North? functions according to the concept and quality standards in place.
  • Lead the team, coordinate, and supervise the activities of the TVET Agency in the North.
  • Have an in depth understanding of the TVET system in Ghana and take care of all key stakeholders of the Agency like local and international companies, GES, and NVTI.
  • Be an excellent Ambassador of Chance for Children and the TVET Agency
  • Collaborate with the different CFC branches and departments for best interventions and efficiency.
  • Prepare, develop, and analyze reports of the TVET Agency for informed decisions.
  • Control the budget and expenditure of the TVET Agency in the North.
  • Work closely with and provide support to In-Company trainers to adopt best practices for training young adults in apprenticeships.
  • Facilitate training sessions for young adults that prepare them with complementary skills for the labor market.
  • Work closely with young adults towards their personal and career development.
  • Build the capacity of young adults to be active participants in their development and the development of their communities.

Required Skills or Experience

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of a First Degree in Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology, or Industrial Arts.
  • A Certificate in Project Management (a plus)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Project Management Role in a Social Organization
  • Passion for street-connected young adults and TVET.
  • Understanding of the phenomenon of street-connected children and young adults in Ghana.
  • Understanding of national and international laws, conventions, charters, and policies regulating work with children and young adults.
  • Knowledge of the Ghana education system and TVET as well as understanding TVET trends in Ghana.
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and practical skills in youth development work.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in group work and group facilitation tools.
  • Knowledge of youth-centered approaches and excellent skills in building trusted relationships with youth.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and building strong working relationships with government institutions and the private sector.
  • Proven high accuracy and quality-focused mindset while managing a demanding work schedule independently.
  • Emotional intelligence and exercise sound judgment.
  • Basic financial management skills.
  • Working knowledge of the logical framework and database management software (a plus).
  • Ability to speak English and Dagbani.
