Job Description

Our aim is to give street-connected children in Ghana a dignified life and a bright future. Our mission is to improve the safety, well-being, and livelihood of street-connected children and their families.

Since the year 2000, we have been committed to nurturing an inclusive environment that embraces the diversity and uniqueness of every child. By this, we have employed an integrated approach to strengthen street-connected children and their families to find unique and tailor-made solutions for brighter prospects.

We run a Residential Home for Children (RHC) on the outskirts of Accra. It houses former street-connected children who for one reason or the other, have been living independently on the street and or have been living with a guardian under hazardous circumstances on the streets.

The goal of the RHC is to offer former street-connected children the necessities of life in a safe and secure environment whiles working together with their families for future reintegration or for independent living. The current capacity of the home is 70 with 30 spaces for boys and 40 spaces for girls.

The Youth Flats is an assisted living facility for young adults.

The Role

In the role of the RHC Manager, you shall:

  • Lead and drive a team of passionate child development workers!
  • Manage all aspects of the RHC and of the Youth Flats.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements within the National, Regional, and Municipal Levels regarding the running of the RHC.
  • Ensure a safe and positive work environment for both children and staff.
  • Collaborate with the different branches and departments and others for best interventions and efficiency.
  • Identify, build, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to the benefit of the organization.

Required Skills or Experience

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum degree in Business Management/Administration, Hotel/Facility Management.
  • A master’s in Project Management will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a Non-Profit Organization in a managerial position.
  • Working experience in residential care is a plus.
  • Passion for street-connected children and young adults in Ghana.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and issues, both verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences.
  •  Ability to provide practical and innovative solutions to the management of operations of the RHC and youth flats.
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with challenging situations and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
  •  Positive attitude to children and young people in care and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and building strong working relationships with government institutions and the private sector.
  • Proven high accuracy and quality-focused mindset while independently managing a demanding work schedule.
  • Emotional intelligence and exercise sound judgment.
  • Working knowledge of the logical framework and database management software (a plus).
