Job Description
- Department: Community and Social Responsibility
- Job reports to: CSR Superintendent
Job Purpose
- To assist in managing the acquisition and negotiation of land access for exploration and mining projects
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in negotiating crop rate agreements with stakeholders, ensuring fair compensation, and addressing concerns
- Ensure that all land access activities comply with the Minerals and Mining Act, regional and local regulations, etc.
- Assist in securing the required permits and approvals for land access for operations, and ensure compliance with permit conditions throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain accurate records of all land access and compensation agreements, activities, and related documentation
- Assist in developing and implementing community engagement programs to foster positive relationships with the local community and other stakeholders
- Assist in addressing and resolving conflicts related to land access, compensation, and community concerns
- Assist in developing strategies to mitigate negative environmental and social impacts and enhance positive contributions to local communities
- Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders on land access and compensation activities and compliance status
- Performs any other related duties based on the exigencies of the Company as assigned by the Supervisor
Required Skills or Experience
Minimum qualification (s)
|
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Economy, Land Management, Geomatic Engineering or a related field
|
Experience (Minimum)
|
- Four (4) years of post-qualification experience in a similar role in the mining industry
- Experience in community engagement and conflict resolution
- Must be able to speak at least one of the following local languages: Talen or Guruni (Frafra)

Knowledge (In-depth)
|
- Good working knowledge of the Minerals and Mining (Compensation and Resettlement) Regulations, 2012 (L.I. 2175)
- Good knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information System) may be advantageous
- Strong Knowledge of land tenure systems and property rights of the Upper East region
