Job Description

World Vision Ghana is a Christian child-focused humanitarian, relief, development and advocacy non-governmental organization with projects that seek to transform the lives of children and their families in most parts of Ghana. The World Vision Ghana Board wishes to recruit highly qualified, motivated and results-oriented leaders in their respective fields to serve as Board members on a voluntary basis. Collectively, the qualified candidates should represent a relevant range of diversity in experience, competence, age, gender, church affiliation, ethnicity and geographic backgrounds.

Required Skills or Experience

Areas of Expertise:

Human Resource Management / Organisational Development
Financial Accounting
Information Communication Technology
Fundraising (Local Resource mobilization)

Competencies/Skills:

Must be a committed Christian who participates in the worship and life of a local church (a Trinitarian denomination)
Willing and able to devote significant time during each calendar year to Board and committee service on a voluntary basis.
English language fluency (written and verbal).
Good communication skills including public speaking and presentation skills
Strategic Leadership
Public service
Fundraising Knowledge and skills
Good inter-personal skills
Analytical and critical thinking with a sound understanding of the prevailing social, political and economic situation in Ghana
Creative/broad thinker

Others:

A heart for the poor and committed to the ministry of World Vision.
A Good reputation in the country for character and competence.
Willing to subscribe and adhere to the Mission Statement, Core Values, Statement of Faith, Covenant of Partnership and other applicable WVI Board-approved policies
Former sponsored children/ direct beneficiaries of World Vision are encouraged to apply
Not an employee of World Vision, or a close family member of a current WV Ghana employee
Not a former National Director of WV Ghana, who has served in that capacity during the previous three years
