Job Description

Hollard Ghana is looking for Finance & Accounts Manager

Job Objective

To support the General Manager of Finance in providing strategic direction and oversight for the Finance and Accounts department. The individual will contribute to business planning, budgeting, and capital expenditure processes, ensuring the development and implementation of effective financial systems and policies. The selected candidate will also ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements to support informed decision-making and maintain financial integrity within the organization.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists the General Manager, Finance in the strategic planning and direction process.
  • Assists in implementing all financial aspects of the strategic plan and achieving relevant objectives.
  • Manages and maintains, in close working relationship with the General Manager, Finance the business planning and budgetary process including budgets, capital expenditure, budget monitoring and reforecasts.
  • Ensures that the company has effective financial systems, controls and processes in place and used throughout the company, and ensuring all internal controls are complied with.
  • Assists to create an approach to enable the company to effectively adhere and meet the new reporting (IFRS 17) and disclosure requirements.
  • Coordinates, develops and updates written policies and procedures on the financial reporting process.
  • Ensures the development and maintenance of high-quality timely reports to meet deadlines for financial reporting.
  • Liaises closely with colleagues at all levels throughout the Company to ensure that business priorities, financial targets and disciplines are both well understood and adhered to.
  • Ensures that the Company meets its corporate, statutory, and fiscal obligations in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Monitors and interprets cash flows and predicts future trends.
  • Implements robust fixed assets management system
  • Assist in providing the company with a full range of financial accounting and reporting services, (branch reporting and Line of Business) for profitability assessment.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with statutory, regulatory and IFRS mandates.
  • Produce monthly cost statements of actuals, comparison against budgets
  • Review various schedules for both external and internal reporting requirements including monthly management accounts, NIC prudential reports, financial reports for board pack and tax computations.

 

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification and Relevant Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (ICAG, ACCA).
  • A good university degree from a recognized university.
  • Must have at least eight (8) years’ relevant experience from the financial services industry, preferably from an insurance company with at least 3 years in managerial or leadership position closely collaborating with executive leadership.
  • Advanced computer knowledge in MS Office
