Job Description

A trusted ICT and Telecommunications Company in Ghana is looking for Procurement Manager for immediate employment.

Job Purpose

  • The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement process for goods and services within the organization.
  • This role ensures that all procurement activities align with business needs, quality standards, timelines, and cost- effectiveness.
  • The Procurement Manager will lead a team to manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and manage the purchasing process from end-to-end

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies that meet the organization's objectives
  • Create and maintain a robust procurement policy that ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal standards
  • Lead the selection and management of suppliers, ensuring long-term, mutually beneficial relationships
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews, ensuring high levels of quality, delivery, and service
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best value for the organization
  • Oversee day-to-day procurement operations, ensuring all purchasing needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Review and approve purchase orders and ensure proper documentation is maintained for all transactions.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving strategies through negotiations, process improvements, and supplier consolidations.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Mitigate procurement risks by maintaining diverse supplier relationships and conducting risk assessments.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration/Supply Chain Management/Logistics or a related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS/CPSM etc.) are a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing procurement operations
  • Proven track record of managing budgets and cost-saving initiatives
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes and best practices
