Job Description

1. CLINICAL QUALITY ADVISOR

  • Length of Contract: Permanent
  • Location: KUMASI

The Clinical Quality Advisor will be responsible for providing clinical quality supervision and focused clinical trainings in all service delivery channels in the assigned region of work. He /She will be part of the Clinical Quality Team to ensure that client-centred services are delivered in accordance with MSI clinical quality standards. The post will be based in Kumasi with travel to service delivery points in support of quality assurance through monitoring, mentoring and clinical training of staff at MSI supported service sites.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Quality Assurance

  • Lead and deliver the MSIG quality assurance goals and become MDT focal person for clinical supervision in the Region/Channel.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with the staff at various MSIG service delivery channels to effectively handle issues related to quality of clinical services
  • Conduct supportive clinical supervision at various MSIG service delivery channels in the region. Support development of action plans in response to these visits and ensuring these are implemented.
  • Facilitate improvement in key quality indicators in service delivery channels.
  • Conduct clinical quality assessments (CQIA) for all assigned service delivery sites
  • Coordinate with the Channel Leads, Regional Managers, service providers, medical stores and procurement teams to ensure availability of high-quality products, supplies and equipment for clinical service provision at all times.
  • Ensure appropriate management of clinical and product-related incidents at all assigned service delivery sites.
  • Remain clinically active.

Clinical Training

  • Be Medical Services focal person on clinical trainings for assigned sites.
  • Lead the delivery of MSIG capacity building goals in the region with support from Regional Manager
  • Coordinate, with Channel Leads, Regional Managers, medical stores and procurement teams to ensure availability of logistics for clinical trainings.
  • Ensure that clinical training needs assessment and competency assessment are regularly done for all service providers in the region.

Other Responsibilities

  • Make proper use of available databases to facilitate quality assurance & trainings.
  • Assist the Marketing/Regional Team with interviews relating to clinical issues to protect MSIG reputation.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by Head of Medical Services

Required Skills or Experience

About You To succeed in this role, you must have:

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Must have a recognized Professional qualification in Midwifery or Medicine.
  • Must possess a First Degree in a related discipline
  • Must be registered/licensed and in good-standing with a recognized/related clinical professional body in Ghana
  • A Masters degree in Public Health/Reproductive Health/Health Education will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 5 years post-graduation experience in active practice in Midwifery or Medicine
  • Must have experience in clinical supervision, training and/or assessments of service providers
  • Must be computer literate with good knowledge of MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word.
  • Must possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills (oral presentations and report writing)
  • Must be able to give honest, constructive and challenging feedback to people
  • Must be articulate and analytical with attention to detail, able to use data to inform practice
  • Must be well-versed in National clinical policies, protocols and standards
  • Sympathetic to women and men seeking Family Planning and Reproductive Health services
  • Passionate about maternal health, inspires confidence in clients and maintains confidentiality
  • Able to work on own initiative and for longer periods.
  • Client focused with good interpersonal skills to engage with people at all levels – government, franchisees, donor and community
  • Motivates team members to deliver high quality service and result
