Job Description

PURPOSE
The Banking Services Coordinator-Retail shall support BGSL service point/branches with onsite banking services. He/she will be responsible for coordinating allocated resources to achieve all agreed objectives. The scope of responsibility shall mainly be driving sales, spearheading deposit mobilization, providing valuable support in staff management and client management to ensure the delivery of quality banking relationship with customers.
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Acquisition
  • Develop and implement target market-oriented client acquisition strategies to create sustained demand for institutional products available for private individuals and very small non-loan clients.
  • Develop assigned client segments by a direct marketing approach to enhance usage of specific products in assigned segments 
  • Maintain a database of specific prospects and develop a call plan for acquisition 
  • Identify key market trends (internal and external), risks and opportunities to define future propositions and promotions that drive client acquisition in assigned client segment
  • Achieve periodic targets assigned by branch management in specific product and client segments.
  • Lead direct promotion activities at institutional and branch level with the focus on attracting new pool of clients into the portfolio.
  • Private client advisors are expected to play key roles in the institutional education events organized for clients.
  • Work together with the Area Banking Services Coordinators-Retail to drive sales through promotions, presentations and in-branch contacts.
  • Provide guidance and support to service point/branch operations Retail team to ensure smooth performance of their duties.
  • To manage/recommend workflow changes, where appropriate, for greater efficiency
  • Propose product features and benefit changes to promote and drive sales
  • Aid in ensuring that all staff under their supervision deliver good quality services to all clients
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies to mitigate risks.
  • Contribute to developing a strong sense of client orientation amongst all staff in the service points/branches 
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the banking department.
  • Support the monitoring of service delivery levels to ensure a consistent match between actual service delivery and agreed institutional standards
  • Contribute to the full implementation of all recommendations of audit, compliance and other management reports.
  • Support in the preparation and submission of monthly reports on business, operations and other standard reports to management and the relevant support departments.
Research
  • Conduct research in assigned zones to determine market potential
  • Use available sources e.g. internet and other media to extract relevant leads for business
  • Thoroughly understand the businesses of clients in assigned portfolio to serve clients better
Client Management
  • Develop and Implement relationship management strategies that will enhance the lifetime value of clients in assigned segment
  • Identify client needs, and recommend relevant products and services that meet the needs
  • Undertake a detailed client profiling to determine potential for deposit mobilization and usage of other products and services 
Safeguarding Responsibilities
  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all levels of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Required Skills or Experience

EXPERIENCE (Including sector/industry)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in banking operations.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, banking processes, products, and regulations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis tools.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data processing.
  • Knowledge of IT systems and software.
  • Adaptability to changing technologies and workflows.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree
  • Concentration / Major: Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
