Job Description

Background
WVG is implementing a 5-year strategy called ‘Accelerating our Commitment to the Most Vulnerable Children’ (ACCOUNT for every MVC). The FY21 – FY25 Strategy has the goal of ensuring that “By 2025, World Vision Ghana would have reached 3.3 million vulnerable children through Empowered and Resilient communities with a special focus on Most Vulnerable Children (MVC). World Vision Ghana’s main areas of focus in line with our strategy include Education, Health and Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Livelihood, Child Protection Advocacy, Faith and Development, and Disaster Risk Reduction.
In line with provisions contained in the Company’s Act 992, World Vision Ghana LBG is required to have its annual financial statement audited by an independent audit firm. World Vision Ghana therefore requires the services of an Independent Auditor for the execution of this assignment.
 
AObjectives of the Audit 
The objectives of this audit are to enable the Auditor to express an independent audit opinion in accordance with Ghana’s Companies Act 2019 (Act 992) and Registrar General requirements and other regulations on whether:
  • The financial statements of World Vision Ghana for the period stated in the Audit Scope present, in all material respects, in conformity with the applicable laws, regulations, and policies 
  • The organization’s books of accounts provide the basis for the preparation of those financial statements and reflect the financial transactions in respect of all projects and it maintains adequate internal controls and supporting documentation for transactions.
Audit Scope
  • The scope of the Audit is the financial year 2025 (FY25) starting October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.
C- The Audit Report
The audit report should follow the International Auditing Standards and include at least the following:
  • Whether the Financial Statements for the period as stated above are adequately and fairly presented in line with all applicable laws and show the true and fair view of the financial position of WVG.  
  • A management report outlining issues Auditors would like to bring to management's attention with accompanying recommendations.
Audit Duration
  • The audit work and all its processes are expected to last not more than 4 weeks starting in January 2026.
Deliverables
  • The Auditors on completion of the audit work will submit 5 (five) original copies of the Audited Financial Statements including the Auditor’s Report to the attention of the National Director of WVG. 
  • Management Letter following the scope of work described here before. 

Required Skills or Experience

Auditor Independence and Qualification

  • The Auditor must be a highly recognized firm with an international reputation and expertise in auditing international non-governmental organizations.
  • The auditor must be completely independent of all aspects of management or financial interests in the entity being audited.
  • The auditor should not, during the period covered by the audit nor during the undertaking of the audit, be employed by, serve as director for, or have any financial or close business relationships with any senior participant in the management of World Vision International and World Vision Ghana.
  • The auditor should disclose any relationship that might compromise his/her independence.
  • The auditor should be experienced in applying the relevant audit standards. The auditor must employ adequate staff with appropriate professional qualifications and suitable experience with required standards, including experience in auditing the accounts of entities comparable in size and complexity to World Vision Ghana.

How To Apply

Curriculum vitae (CVs) should be provided to World Vision Ghana by the principal of the audit institution who would be responsible for signing the opinion, together with the CVs of managers, supervisors, and key personnel proposed as part of the audit team. CVs should include details of audits carried out by the applicable staff, including ongoing assignments indicating capability and capacity to undertake the audit and experience in auditing financial statements of International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGO).

Submission of Proposals

  • Hard copies of proposals must be delivered to the Supply Chain Department of World Vision Ghana, located at No. 3 Kotei Robertson Street, North Industrial Area, Accra.
  • In addition, proposals must also be submitted electronically via email, addressed to the Supply Chain Manager at Benjamin_adu-amoah@wvi.org, with a copy to hannah_tetteh@wvi.org
  • Deadline for submission of Financial and Technical proposal is Two (2) weeks after publications Submission of Proposals
