Job Description
Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd is seeking to employ a well-motivated and experienced Security Supervisor- Operations to join the team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing security operations, managing security personnel, and ensuring the safety and protection of lives and properties.
Job Purpose
The Security Supervisor will be responsible for implementing company security policies, procedures and standards to ensure an effective coordination and supervision of security operations in all areas of the Mine.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive safety culture in all aspect of security operations on the Mine.
- Coordinate all security operations on site to protect life and property;
- Detect and prevent crime within the mine and institute measures to ensure access control procedure is strictly enforced through effective screening and search;
- Supervise public and contractor security operatives for all security operations especially within restricted zones;
- Assess security risks, threats and vulnerabilities of the operations for corrections.
- Assist in conducting investigations into incidents that occur, in conjunction with other investigators and law enforcement agencies.
- Lead in bullion shipments and ensure maximum security in the most highly restricted areas in line with company policy and procedures;
- Support emergency response plan for incidents i.e., theft, sabotage, vandalism and safety breach.
- Conduct joint patrol duties with public and contractor security personnel to ward off illegal miners on the company concessions;
- Ensure the preparation and keeping of security records, events, and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports to the head of department;
- Assist to periodically review security operations and present recommendations for improvement;
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Required Skills or Experience
Knowledge
- A minimum of first degree in any social science, or related discipline from a recognized institution;
- A relevant professional qualification and certification in security, preferably CPP - ASIS or equivalent;
- A minimum of five (5) years working experience in security duties in a process plant/gold room.
- An experience with the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service and other state security agencies will be an added advantage.
- Basic and practical knowledge of Voluntary Principle on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR).
- Exposure to modern asset protection techniques and procedures.
- Strong presentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Leadership experience and a strong desire to coach and develop others.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute work plans.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license.
Skills
- Excellent knowledge in Risk Assessment.
- Demonstrable knowledge and expertise in Security Procedures and Protocols.
- Knowledge and experience in Emergency Preparedness.
- Proven competency in Security Awareness Training.
- Comprehensive experience in Access Control Management.
- Advance knowledge in Incident Response and Investigations.
- Good communication skills and coordinating abilities;
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Ability to keep and manage sensitive and confidential information;
- Strong computer literacy skills in MS Office suites.
