Job Description

Job Summary
Tumi Ghana Foundation is a small, community-based foundation located in Asokwa, Kumasi, committed to empowering women and creating social impact through skill development and hospitality. We are seeking a hands-on, people-centered Operations Manager to oversee the daily running of our two core departments: Hostel & Café and the Women Empowerment Centre.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment and who is deeply committed to supporting women’s empowerment through skill development, meaningful work, and respect.

The Operations Manager ensures that all activities across both departments run smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with Tumi’s mission. You will supervise the team, ensure high standards in operations and hospitality, and support uneducated or semi-skilled women in gaining confidence, capacity, and independence through their roles. This is a visible, on-the-ground position requiring leadership by example, clear communication, and care.

Key Responsibilities

General Operations Oversight

  • Oversee the day-to-day functioning of Tumi’s two main departments:
    Hostel & Café (accommodation, guest services, restaurant)
    Women Empowerment Centre (daycare, sewing shop, sewing school)
  • Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and problem-solving across all units.
  • Ensure all spaces are clean, well-maintained, and operating to high standards.
  • Handle permits, compliance, and administrative matters.

Team Leadership & Empowerment

  • Supervise and support staff across both departments.
  • Create a respectful, motivating environment for women gaining experience through work and learning.
  • Encourage teamwork, responsibility, and growth.
  • Lead staff development, training, and onboarding.
  • Work with the CEO to manage recruitment, reviews, and team-building efforts.

Financial & Stock Management

  • Monitor financial procedures across departments.
  • Oversee stock controls, purchasing, and inventory to reduce loss and waste.
  • Track budgets, daily spending, and income generation.
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting to the CEO.

Guest & Client Experience

  • Ensure excellent guest experiences in the hostel and café.
  • Oversee client care and professionalism in all Women Empowerment Centre projects.
  • Maintain a positive, welcoming atmosphere for guests, parents, students, and customers.

Communication & Reporting

  • Act as the communication bridge between departments and the CEO.
  • Report regularly on operations, staff performance, and areas for improvement.
  • Support strategy, planning, and growth of both departments.

Required Skills or Experience
