A Logistics company requires the services of a Transport Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the Transportation Department. Our offices are located at Spintex – Accra.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Transport Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the transportation of goods via trailer trucks (heavy duty trucks), ensuring efficient, safe, and timely delivery of cargo to customers. Specific responsibilities include:

• In charge of ensuring effective day to day operations of the transport department
• Efficiently managing the transport team (which includes drivers), Fuel and the fleet of vehicles
• Managing, monitoring and developing the transport team to achieve the objective of the company.
• Assisting with the preparation of the transport budget and in charge of maintaining the profit and loss account of the department
• Responsible for all the dispatching, routing and tracking of delivery vehicles for quick turnaround
• Ensuring and managing the dispatching of complex and oversized goods to national and international destinations
• Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures
• Identifying operational issues, potential problems, opportunities and devising sustainable strategies to address them
• Appraising staff performance and taking disciplinary measures when required
• Responsible for all HSE investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

1. On-time Delivery: Achieve high on-time delivery rates for cargo.
2. Safety Record: Maintain a strong safety record, with minimal accidents or incidents.
3. Cost Efficiency: Optimize transportation costs, reduce expenses and maintain service quality.
4. Ensure high customer satisfaction ratings, through timely communication and issue resolution.

Required Skills or Experience

• Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
• Professional Qualification in Logistics and Transport
• Minimum of Five (5) years’ work experience in Transport Management
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Expertise in supervising trailer trucks drivers
• Ability to deliver superior customer experiences while adhering to regulatory and operational standards.
