Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Web/Application Developer to join our dynamic team in Accra, Ghana. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with React, Next.js, WordPress, and other modern application development platforms. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance websites and web applications that are scalable, responsive, and user-friendly.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain modern, scalable web applications using React and Next.js.
- Build and customize WordPress themes and plugins to support various client and company projects.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate designs into responsive front-end code.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.
- Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Manage and maintain application documentation.
- Conduct code reviews and maintain coding best practices.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues across multiple platforms and browsers.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest web technologies and industry trends.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in web and application development.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, React.js, Next.js, HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS.
- Strong experience with WordPress development (themes, plugins, CMS customization).
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with APIs, server-side rendering, and headless CMS setups is a plus.
- Solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with TypeScript, Node.js, or backend frameworks.
- Experience with deployment tools (e.g., Vercel, Netlify, or traditional hosting).
- Understanding of SEO principles.
- Basic design skills using tools like Figma or Adobe XD.
