Job Description

Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd is seeking to employ a well-motivated and experienced Assistant Maintenance Planner to join the team. The successful candidate will contribute to the reliability and efficiency of systems to support smooth operational performance while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

JOB PURPOSE
The Assistant Maintenance Planner will assist in managing maintenance activities effectively and efficiently to achieve production targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the creation, distribution, and tracking of work orders to ensure they are accurate and complete.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, coordinating with operations and engineering teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of work.
• Support in the management of spare parts and supplies to ensure that necessary materials are readily available for planned maintenance.
• Collect and analyze maintenance data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
• Support efforts to minimize maintenance costs through efficient planning, resource management, and inventory optimization.
• Assist with the planning and execution of maintenance projects, including capital improvements and upgrades.

Required Skills or Experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge and Experience

• Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years in maintenance planning and scheduling (including managing shutdown planning and execution) in a mining industry.

Skills

• Experience in planning major shut down operations in a mining or similar industry.
• Ability to use analytical tools such as, Pareto, Six Sigma methodology, etc. for process analysis
• Knowledge and experience of Operations and Maintenance work practices and procedures.
• Must have good experience in related CMMS software.
