Job Description

Role Overview
The Group General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance of the hospitality group. This includes driving profitability, maintaining service excellence, and overseeing new hotel developments. The GM ensures that all hotels operate in alignment with the group’s vision, consistently delivering world-class guest experiences, financial growth, and brand integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Chairman to develop and execute the long-term vision and growth strategy for the hospitality group.
  • Set and monitor financial performance targets, including revenue, profit margins, and cost control measures.
  • Oversee new hotel developments and expansion projects, ensuring they align with brand standards.
  • Identify emerging market trends and adapt strategies to remain competitive in the hospitality industry.
  • Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency across all hotels.
  • Implement guest experience enhancement initiatives, improving service standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular site visits and performance audits to ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Work closely with hotel managers to resolve operational challenges and optimize service delivery.
  • Monitor hotel budgets, financial statements, and revenue reports to maximize profitability.
  • Develop cost-control strategies, improving efficiency in procurement, staffing, and operations.
  • Oversee revenue generation strategies, including pricing policies, marketing campaigns, and loyalty programs.
  • Lead and mentor the Group Head of Food & Beverage, Group Head of Housekeeping, and all hotel GMs.
  • Oversee talent acquisition, staff training programs, and performance evaluations.
  • Cultivate a strong company culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Ensure that all newly constructed or renovated hotels meet the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and contractors to align new projects with brand aesthetics.
  • Approve fixtures, fittings, and furnishings, ensuring quality and durability.

Required Skills or Experience

  • MBA or advanced degree in Hospitality/Business Administration
  • Professional certifications (CHIA, CHA, CHE)
  • Experience with mixed-use developments and resort operations
  • Background in luxury or ultra-luxury hospitality brands
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hospitality operations
  • Proven track record managing portfolios of 5+ properties simultaneously
  • Extensive experience with hotel pre-openings, renovations and rebranding projects
  • Demonstrated success in turnaround management for underperforming properties
  • Deep expertise in revenue management strategies and systems.
  • Strong background in F&B operations, including high-volume restaurant and banquet management
  • International hospitality experience across multiple markets and cultures
  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools and BI platforms
  • Working knowledge of modern construction and design principles
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices in hospitality operations
  • Understanding of digital transformation in guest services
  • Exceptional people management skills with experience leading 500+ employees
  • Proven ability to develop and mentor high-potential leaders
  • Strong crisis management and problem-solving capabilities
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic thinker with ability to balance long-term vision with short-term execution
  • Change management expertise in organizational transformation.
