Job Purpose
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with mining safety regulations, company policies, and safe work procedures outlined by Cardinal Namdini. Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
- To lead and coordinate the maintenance activities of the plant’s mechanical and electrical systems to ensure optimal equipment reliability, availability, and performance in support of safe, continuous, and efficient gold processing operations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the optimal availability, reliability, and performance of plant equipment. Blends technical, supervisory, and planning responsibilities to support continuous production.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Performs Inter-discipline & discipline QA/QC and engineering compliance checks on all work performed by themselves or junior engineers within the Golden Dynasty team
- Check and coordinate or supervise on going major repairs, overhauls, and planned shutdowns.
- Participate in initiatives to improve plant uptime, reduce downtime, and extend equipment life.
- Collaborate with OEMs and vendors for diagnostics and resolution of complex equipment problems.
- Ensure technical documentation, drawings, and manuals are updated and available.
- Work with planners to create effective maintenance schedules and ensure work orders are executed on time
- Optimize the spare parts inventory to avoid overstocking and shortages. Manage lead times for critical items
- Perform any other related duties based on the exigencies of the Company as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills or Experience
Minimum qualification (s)
|
- Must have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Mincom Competency Certificate, minimum Sectional engineer.
- Registered Member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers will be an advantage
|
Experience (Minimum)
|
- 7 years working experience in a gold mineral processing plant; at least 3 years in a supervisory role, including large-scale fixed asset management experience.

Knowledge (In-depth)
|
- Strong knowledge in Mechanical systems such as SAG and ball mills, gyratory and cone crushers, conveyors, pumps, thickeners, screens, agitators, elution circuits, blowers, Oxygen Plant, etc.
- Maintenance strategy and ability to optimise equipment lifespan and performance through reliability engineering.
- Strategic & Operational Decision-Making and ability to align engineering objectives with plant production targets and business goals.
- Competence in identifying and mitigating operational risks through engineering solutions.

Skills
|
- Ability to use KPIs to track equipment availability, maintenance effectiveness, and workforce productivity.
- Preventive and predictive maintenance: Skilled in planning and executing maintenance schedules to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Spare parts coordination: Ensuring critical spares availability and managing inventory with the warehouse team.
- Supervisory skills and good contractor management skills

Leadership and behavioral attributes
|
- Proven ability to lead and motivate large, multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance teams.
- Strong analytical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-pressure operational environments.
- Set performance goals, conduct performance reviews, and develop team capabilities through coaching and training.
