Job Description

Are you passionate about improving crop production, plant study, soil science and its management, analyzing data to provide expert advice to farmers to optimize yields and promote sustainable farming practices? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic young professional to serve as an Business Development Officer.

JOB PURPOSE
In this role, the Business Development Officer will communicate with internal teams within the company to develop and execute sales strategies, formulate compelling proposals, and negotiate contracts on behalf of the company. The applicant must build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and partners, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business. 
 
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and implement sales strategies to reach target markets and close deals.
  • Proactively seek out new leads and prospects through networking, referrals, and other channels.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive insights and customer needs.
  • Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication, service delivery, and problem-solving.
  • Create and implement business development plans that align with the company’s overall goals.
  • Oversee the execution of business development strategies and ensure they are effectively implemented.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of business efforts and make necessary adjustments.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with new and existing clients.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, sales, and operations to achieve business development goals.
  • Keeping track on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
  • And any other tasks that would be assigned.  

Required Skills or Experience

RELEVANT EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Development Officer, Business Development Manager or a similar role.
  • Exceptional analytical and market research skills.
  • Background in marketing and sales.
  • In-depth knowledge in Agribusiness and Technology.
  • Strong critical thinking skills 
  • Ability to plan and execute sales strategies to achieve company’s objectives.
  • Proven experience in business development and account management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships for long-term business.
  • Visionary mindset, a person of integrity and a commitment to excellence.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to formulate compelling proposals.
  • Excellent project management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
