Job Description

  • Reports To: Head Of School/Principal
  • Location: Amankani Avenue, Adenta

Job Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring that all aspects of the school's operations are running smoothly and efficiently. The COO will work closely with the Head of School/Principal and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategies to improve the school's operations, facilities, and services.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the school, including facilities management, transportation, food services, and safety and security.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to improve the school's operations, facilities, and services.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets for operational areas, ensuring financial sustainability and efficiency.
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of school facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure that the school's safety and security protocols are in place and effective, and that all staff and students are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of School/Principal, senior leaders, teachers, staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Problem-Solving and Crisis Management: Provide leadership and support in times of crisis, and work to resolve operational issues in a timely and effective manner.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, management, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with educational operations, facilities management, and safety and security protocols.

Performance Metrics:

  • Operational Efficiency: Measure the effectiveness of operational systems and processes.
  • Financial Management: Evaluate budget management and financial sustainability.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Assess the condition and maintenance of school facilities.
  • Safety and Security: Evaluate the effectiveness of safety and security protocols.
