Job Description
A reputable firm seeks a Business Development Manager.
The Business Development Manager will lead the company’s commercial and financial strategy, overseeing the identification and execution of viable business opportunities, financial planning and reporting, and overall operational growth. The role requires a commercially savvy and results-driven individual who will also serve as the principal liaison with the company’s Board.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company’s revenue goals and long-term vision.
- Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities, partnerships, and commercial ventures, particularly in real estate, asset development, and service-based income streams.
- Lead feasibility assessments and business case development for potential projects.
- Expand the company’s market presence and client base by building partnerships with the private sector, development institutions, and government agencies.
- Oversee the development and marketing of company’s property and facility management services.
Financial Management
- Prepare and manage the company’s annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Oversee financial operations including invoicing, revenue tracking, procurement, and expense management.
- Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory frameworks for private enterprises in Ghana.
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal use and for submission to the Board.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures to maximize profitability.
Operational Oversight
- Supervise daily operations, ensuring efficiency in administration, human resource management, and facility management.
- Oversee vendor and contractor relationships to ensure quality and value for money.
Required Skills or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in business development, finance, or general management, preferably in a private sector or social enterprise setting.
- Strong knowledge of Ghanaian tax and corporate compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience developing and executing business growth strategies.
- Experience preparing board reports and liaising with senior leadership and governance structures.
