ActionAid Ghana (AAG) is a non-governmental organization registered in Ghana as a National NGO and working in the country since 1990. AAG is a member of ActionAid International Federation as the first Southern Affiliate programme. dedicated to social justice, poverty reduction, and human rights. AAG’s strategic interventions focus on gender equality, youth empowerment, climate resilience, and addressing inequalities in marginalized communities. With this approach, AAG works with the active agency of people living in poverty and their communities, social movements, and people’s organizations to protect and promote their rights; build their resilience to poverty and climate change; and ensure the redistribution of resources and power. AAG presence is in 11 out of Ghana’s 16 administrative regions. Job Description

• Salary:  This role is on SM4 of ActionAid Ghana’s Salary Structure
• Duration: 16 months with the possibility of renewal by additional 18 months contingent on availability of funding and satisfactory performance.
• Location: Accra with frequent visits to project communities

Role Overview
ActionAid Ghana seeks to engage a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for the overall management, accountability and coordination of the Climate Adaptation Project in line with donor contract to achieve the stated results of the project.

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of the project aimed at enhancing the resilience of vulnerable urban communities to the increasing impacts of climate change, particularly urban flooding.

Required Skills or Experience

Educational Qualification

• Master’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Environmental Science, Climate Change, or a relevant field, with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior project or programme management role.
• Technical
• Proven experience in managing large, multi-stakeholder donor-funded projects.
• Strong understanding of climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, or environmental governance.
• Knowledge of Human Rights-Based Approach to programming.
• Advanced skills in advocacy, lobbying, and campaigning.
• Familiarity with gender, power dynamics, and women’s rights in Ghana.
• Strong proposal and concept note development skills.
• Knowledge of donor contract management principles.
• Advanced writing, report development, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of M&E systems and results-based management.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and digital communication tools.
