Job Description

The Client wishes to engage a Financial Controller who will provide strategic oversight of the company’s financial health. The role includes overall responsibility for the Finance Department, as well as supporting managers and staff of other functional departments/units to ensure the efficiency of in-house systems and procedures. In addition, you will spearhead the planning and execution of transactional and other engagements with key external parties relevant to finance, banking, operational and other related functions. The position reports directly to the Managing Director.

Among other responsibilities, the Financial Controller’s work will focus on: ê

  1. Overseeing all financial planning and analysis.
  2. Forecasting future financial performance.
  3. Recommending changes in policies or procedures that will improve financial performance.
  4. Preparing and analyzing budgets.
  5. Tracking, reporting and analyzing budget variances.
  6. Preparing and reviewing the company's financial statements to ensure accuracy.
  7. Providing accurate financial reports to management.
  8. Ensuring compliance with associated government and industry regulations.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Working Experience: 10 Years
  • Extensive experience managing finance teams, preparing and analyzing reports and making improvements to financial tools and systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • MBA or related post-graduate qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • Professional qualifications and expertise of a Chartered Accountant.
  • Proven business and commercial acumen in Accounting, Budget Preparation, Variance Analysis, Revenue Management and Capital Expenditure Planning, and other relevant areas.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other financial software, including financial modeling and forecasting tools.
  • Deep knowledge of and working familiarity with relevant statutory laws and regulations.

  • A strategic thinker with strong leadership, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to hit the ground running, while blending easily into the new environment and working constructively within a diverse team.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and time management skills.
