We are a well-reputable and established Ghanaian company engaged in the trading of key agricultural commodities such as roasted cashew, cooking oil, and rice. With operational offices and branches in India and Vietnam, we are strategically positioned to serve global markets. As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are expanding into new frontiers, with upcoming offices in Côte d’Ivoire and other African countries. Building on our strong trading foundation, we are now diversifying into the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector with the launch of premium rice and cooking oil brands in Ghana.
 
About the Role / Job Purpose
The Regional Cluster Manager – Rice & Cooking Oil will lead the end-to-end commercial development of our new rice and cooking oil brands within an assigned cluster. This role is both strategic and hands-on, covering sales growth, distributor network management, brand activation, marketing execution, and market penetration. You will be responsible for introducing and establishing our products in both formal retail channels and open markets, ensuring optimal distribution, competitive visibility, and strong sales performance.
 
You will work closely with marketing teams to design and execute in-market activations, negotiate with distributors and wholesalers, onboard high-volume customers, and implement sales strategies tailored to your region. This is a high-impact leadership position with full accountability for your territory’s performance.
 
Cluster Locations
We are recruiting for four strategic clusters:
  • Northern Sector
  • Western Ghana
  • Southern Ghana
  • Middle Sector
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Market Development
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Drive product penetration into open markets, retail outlets, and wholesale hubs.
  • Expand market share through strategic pricing, promotions, and customer acquisition.
2. Distributor & Account Management
  • Build, manage, and grow relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key accounts.
  • Onboard new high-volume distributors and retailers to expand coverage.
  • Monitor distributor performance, order frequency, and payment cycles.
3. Marketing & Brand Activation
  • Collaborate with marketing to plan and execute brand activation campaigns in markets and retail outlets.
  • Oversee product sampling, in-market promotions, and trade events.
  • Ensure brand visibility and merchandising compliance at all points of sale.
4. Operational & Territory Management
  • Monitor stock levels to prevent regional stock-outs.
  • Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Plan and execute regular trade visits to maintain strong market presence.
5. Competitive Intelligence & Reporting
  • Track competitor activities, pricing, and promotional trends.
  • Provide detailed market feedback and actionable insights to management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely sales and performance reports.
Performance KPIs
  • Sales Volume Growth: Minimum 15% year-on-year growth in assigned territories.
  • Distribution Coverage: Increase active distributor base by 20% within 12 months.
  • Order Fulfilment Rate: Maintain a 95%+ on-time delivery rate.
  • Stock Management: Keep regional stock-outs to less than 2% monthly.
  • Trade Visit Frequency: Minimum 15 key distributor visits per month.
  • New Account Acquisition: Onboard at least 5 new high-volume customers per quarter.

Required Skills or Experience

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven track record selling rice and/or cooking oil.
  • Experience introducing and establishing new FMCG products in competitive markets.
  • Strong distributor, wholesaler, and retail relationship management skills.
  • Minimum 5 years’ FMCG sales experience, with at least 3 years in rice and cooking oil preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, travel extensively, and deliver results under pressure.
