Job Description

• Location: Must live at  Ofankor Barrier and its environs

Job Purpose

The Kitchen Assistant supports the smooth running of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring that hygiene and safety standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist chefs/cooks with basic food preparation (washing, peeling, chopping ingredients).
• Wash, clean, and properly store kitchen utensils, cooking equipment, and dishes.
• Keep kitchen work areas, surfaces, floors, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Receive and store deliveries, ensuring stock rotation and proper storage of food items.
• Dispose of waste and adhere to recycling and sanitation standards.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
• Assist with serving meals when required.
• Perform any other related duties assigned by the Chef or Supervisor.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications

• Basic education (SHS or equivalent).
• Prior experience in a kitchen or catering environment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good physical stamina and willingness to handle cleaning tasks.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Must reside within Ofankor Barrier and its environs.
