Job Description

UNITED FOR CARE-SENSTIVE APPROACHES TO RIGHTS AND EMPOWERMENT (UCARE PROJECT)
U-CARE is a five-year project (2024-2029) being implemented in 10 Metropolitan/ Municipal/ District Assemblies in the Northern, North East and Savannah Regions targeting selected urban, peri-urban and rural communities. The project seeks to reduce the heavy, unequal and unfair burden of unpaid care and domestic work borne by women and adolescent girls in Northern Ghana by working collaboratively with national, regional and district governments and local partner organizations to create an enabling policy and programming environment to recognize, reduce and redistribute the burden of Unpaid Care Work (UCW).

Objectives of the position
To serve as Field Officer ensuring the effective coordination, planning, execution, and monitoring of UCARE activities by SEND GHANA In Northern, Savannah and North East Regions.
 
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Implementation
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly Activity plans
  • Coordinate the implementation of Monthly and Quarterly Activity plans
  • Build and strengthen relationship with District Assemblies and Women Rights Organizations  
  • Ensure proper targeting of PWDs, ethnic minorities and marginalized groups in GMF activities
  • Facilitate District policy dialogue sessions on Unpaid Care work with key stakeholders 
  • Ensure adherence to gender and safeguarding requirements in the implementation of all activities
Gender Equity Promotion
  • Coordinate the recruitment and establishment of Gender Model Families across project Districts
  • Plan and conduct training for Women Rights Organizations, Community Facilitators and Gender Champions on the Gender Model Family (GMF) concept
  • Coordinate GMFs monthly meetings and experience sharing sessions at community levels 
  • Provide mentoring and coaching support to Women Rights Organizations and Gender Champions to supervise GMFs action plans implementation.
Financial Management
  • Prepare activity budgets
  • Manage activity funds in line with approved budgets
  • Ensure value for money and sound judgement with expenditure 
  • Ensure timely retirement of activity funds/cash advance 
  • Comply and adhere to SEND GHANA financial management guideliness
Reporting and Documentation 
  • Responsible for writing all activity reports
  • Compile monthly and quarterly progress reports of all implemented activities
  • Ensure proper documentation and financial retirement of all implemented activities
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) 
  • Undertake data collection and evidence gathering for participatory research
  • Conduct field visits to monitor the progress of GMFs in adopting gender-equitable practices.
  • Undertake responsiveness tracking of all commitments secured
  • Provide any other relevant information related to M&E. 
Communication and Knowledge Management
  • Work with the communication team to collect and disseminate Unpaid Care Work and time poverty related success stories and results
  • Write stories and articles on Unpaid Care Work and time poverty for publication (at least one story per quarter).
  • Any other relevant tasks assigned by management
