Illegal Questions in the Interviewing Process

If you are in the process of interviewing for a summer internship, it's important to know what questions are legal or illegal for an employer to ask.  The easiest way to decide if a question is legal or not is to think about the answer and its relevance to your ability to do the internship.  Questions regarding your skills and accomplishments are definitely legal questions that an employer would want to know.  On the other hand, questions about your age, health, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation have absolutely no relevance to how well you can do the job.
