International Federation of Consulting Engineers in partnership with Ghana Consulting Engineers Association

Overview:
The two-day course will provide a thorough understanding of the FIDIC EPC/Turnkey form of contract (otherwise known as the "Silver Book" For example, background to EPC/Turnkey projects and their specific features. The manner in which the Silver Book approaches these features will be compared to and contrasted with the approach taken by the more traditional FIDIC contract forms. 
The introduction will be followed by a detailed explanation of each clause with emphasis on the key issues such as contractor's responsibility for design, fitness for purpose, errors in Employer's Requirements, unforeseeable physical conditions, testing, payments, variations and claims. The course will end with a look at the dispute resolution processes defined by FIDIC, including foreseeable developments in this area.

Seminar Tutor: 
The Trainer is a Member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation, of the Romanian Association of Consulting Engineers and on the Association of Consulting Engineers and Experts - Poland (SiDIR). Mr Bogdan Oprea is listed on the DRBF President List of Dispute Boards Member, Romanian national list of adjudicators, Polish national list of adjudicator, and he is an accredited mediator. He has served recently as Mediator, Negotiator and Adjudicator under FIDIC Conditions of Contract on several International Contracts. 
He has trained extensively for FIDIC as an accredited FIDIC trainer in Europe, Middle East, Asia, South America and Africa, specialising in FIDIC contracts and the management of claims and the resolution of disputes.
