Job Description

  • Reports to: Human Capital & Administration Manager.
  • Location: Kumasi
Direct reports:
  • Front Desk Executive 
  • Drivers
  • Janitors
 
Job Purpose
The HR Officer will work closely with the Human Resources Manager to ensure HR practices are aligned to company’s mission and core values, compliant to prevailing legislations and requirements to facilitate the achievement of the objectives and targets of the organization.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Provide counseling on policies and procedures
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process.
  • Create and implement effective onboarding plans.
  • Assist in designing training and development programs.
  • Assist in performance management processes.
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements
  • Any other duties assign by the Human Capital & Administration Manager.
Employee Performance & Development/Supervisory Duties:
  • Hold direct reports accountable for managing their assignments to ensure the Department’s goals are achieved.
  • Conduct performance appraisal and provide input for career development and recommend performance incentives for subordinate staff.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate training for subordinate staff.

Required Skills or Experience

Education 

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management or related field 
  • Must be a member of a recognized professional body. 

Experience:

  • Four (4) years working experience in similar role
  • Considerable knowledge of the HR Management System: 
  • Considerable working knowledge of current and emerging training tools and learning interventions/aids. 

Technical 

  • Good understanding of modern HR Management System
  • Ability to design and implement HR systems, strategies and policies
  • Good knowledge of modern management principles.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Labour Act 651

Managerial:

  • Ability to plan, coordinate and follow up to monitor people and work activities
  • Ability to design and implement control systems and take corrective action to correct deviations.

Personality:

  • Ability to communicate with all manner of people
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player
  • Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
  • Great “people-person” skills and professional attitude
